Could I be pregnant if I had a two-day period with light pink spotting afterwards?

As Baby Center points out, newly-pregnant women often experience implantation bleeding when their period is due. This bleeding is usually lighter than a normal period and typically takes the form of light spotting over one or two days.
Implantation bleeding may occur when a fertilized egg implants itself in the lining of the uterus. A woman who experiences only light spotting when her period is due may want to take a pregnancy test. As Baby Center explains, however, it is also possible for women to have a light period arrive a few days late, in which case the light spotting is not an indicator of pregnancy.
