As of 2014, the only country to have put men on the moon is the United States. This happened over six Apollo missions, between 1969 and 1972.
Astronauts first walked on the moon on July 20, 1969. Their names were "Buzz" Aldrin and Neil Armstrong.
The next men to walk on the moon were Alan Bean and Charles Conrad of Apollo 12. They were followed by Edgar Mitchell and Alan Shepard of Apollo 14, then James Irwin and David Scott of Apollo 15. The last men to walk on the moon were Charles Duke and John Young of Apollo 16 and Eugene Cernan and Jack Schmitt of Apollo 17.
Each crew had three members, but the command module pilot remained in orbit.
