How do you create your own temporary tattoos?

Temporary tattoos can be applied at home by printing desired images onto decal paper before transferring to the skin. There are plenty of designs available for printing online, or people can create their own.

The tools required are a sheet of decal paper, an accompanying clear adhesive sheet, a ruler and a damp cloth.

Step 1: Print the image

Choose an image for the tattoo and print it onto the glossy side of the decal paper, having first removed the disposable top layer. Leave to dry for a few minutes.

Step 2: Apply the adhesive sheet

Peel off the disposable layer from the adhesive sheet and stick it on top of the decal paper with the image. Remove any air bubbles by pressing the ruler across the surface.

Step 3: Apply the tattoo to the skin

Cut around the edge of the tattoo image, removing the adhesive layer before sticking to the skin. The skin should be clean and dry to start. Press a damp cloth over the back of the sheet until the tattoo is visible through it. Remove the sheet.
