How do you create a Skype account?

Create a Skype account by visiting the Skype "Join Us" page, entering the email address with which the account will be associated and clicking "I agree." Users who do not have a Microsoft account must follow additional steps to register than those who already have a Microsoft account.

People without a Microsoft account must enter names, passwords and other security and profile details on the "Create an Account" page that appears after clicking "I agree." After creating this account, users receive an email with a link they must click to validate their new Microsoft accounts that will be used to access Skype.
