What are some creative ways to use recycled neckties?

One can make zip pouches, purses, wallets, dresses or skirts using old neckties. They can also be converted into stuffed bead necklaces, stitched necklaces, cuff bracelets, curtain ties and napkin rings. Another good idea is stitching them into string blocks or weaving them into quilts and cushion covers.

Neckties are made of different materials, so it is good not to mix too many materials together. When working with silk neckties, one can spray a little starch and keep ironing paper or a napkin over them while ironing. This is helpful since some silks tend to bleed.

Once the necktie is opened up, it is just a piece of fabric with which to use one's imagination.
