The Costa Concordia was owned by Carnival Corporation. It was the first of a line of Concordia-class cruise ships that also includes the Costa Pacifica, Costa Serena, Costa Favolosa, Costa Fascinosa and Carnival Splendor.
The Costa Concordia is best known for sinking after running into a rock off the coast of Italy in 2012. It had been in service since 2006. After the accident, the ship was determined a total loss and the remains of it were moored in Genoa for scrapping.
The other Concordia ships are still in operation as of September 2015 and are run by the Costa Crociere division of Carnival Cruise Lines.
