Many business and investment-oriented websites, such as Bloomberg.com and Money.CNN.com, maintain free currency exchange calculators, sometimes called currency converters. In addition, businesses with an interest in rates of exchange often have currency converters on their websites, such as XE.com and WesternUnion.com.

Currency converters work by inputting the number of units of the currency to be converted and then selecting the target currency. Depending on the current rate of exchange, the currency converter tells how many units of the target currency can be bought with the listed units of original currency. For example, as of June 28, 2015, $10 US converts to about 9 Euros.
