What are the most dangerous dogs?

Pitbulls, Rottweilers, German shepherds, huskies and Alaskan malamutes are the top five most dangerous dog breeds, notes the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Doberman pinschers, chow chows, great Danes, St. Bernards and Akitas round out the top 10.

According to CDC data, pit bulls were responsible for 60 fatal attacks during an 18-year period, which is double the number of deaths in the same time frame resulting from attacks by Rottweilers. During the same period of time, German shepherd attacks killed 19 people, husky attacks killed 14 people and Alaskan malamute attacks killed 12 people. Children are particularly susceptible to attacks from one breed on the list.
