What is Delta's carry-on bag policy?

As of July 2015, Delta Air Line's carry-on bag policy states that passengers can carry on one bag and one personal item for free. The carry-on items must meet Delta's approved requirements. Examples of personal items include purses, laptop computers, briefcases and camera bags.
Delta Air Lines restricts carry-on bags to those measuring a maximum of 45 linear inches combined height, length and width. Passengers should check with Delta to confirm their bag meets the requirements before boarding. Certain flights, such as those with 50 seats or less, only allow personal items due to limited space. Items like food, drinks, jackets and strollers do not count toward the one personal item limit.
