When did the AMC theater in St. Louis' Crestwood Mall close?

St. Louis' Crestwood Mall AMC Theater closed its doors on May 17, 2012. The Crestwood Mall AMC Theatre was originally a five-screen facility. A new 10-screen theater was built in 1992. In 2013, the Crestwood Mall itself also closed.

In April 2015, the city of St. Louis announced a plan for redevelopment of the site. The plan includes a new movie theater, as well as office and retail space. Community gardens, an open plaza and residential areas are also planned for the site. The estimated cost of the project is $100 million, with a projected completion of June 2018 if approved.
