Chris Matthews was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in December 2006. The news anchor admitted to having diabetes during a 2009 interview, going into his personal back story and ignoring all the signs.

Chris Matthews is known for being a commentator and anchor for "The Chris Matthews Show" and "Hardball With Chris Matthews." He had a family history of diabetes but never thought he would get the disease. He wasn’t educated about high blood sugar and ignored doctors when they suggested he get it checked. Due to his busy schedule, it wasn’t until he began feeling ill that he had his blood sugar checked and it was revealed that he had diabetes.
