When did Denver launch the RTD Light Rail system?

The Regional Transportation District, or RTD, of Denver launched the RTD Bus & Light Rail called TheRide on October 7, 1994. Light Rail stops at 46 stations as of 2015, running at 55 mph.

The six RTD Light Rail lines are:

  • C Line: Union Station to Littleton and Mineral Station
  • D Line: 30th and Downing to Littleton and Mineral Station
  • E Line: Union Station to Lincoln Station
  • F Line: 18th and California to Lincoln Station
  • H Line: 18th and California to Nine Mile Station
  • W Line: Union Station to JeffCo - Golden Station

The rail's combined schedules include the Southwest Line, which covers lines C and D; the Southeast Line, which covers lines E, F and H; and the West Line, which covers lines W, C and E. The rail stops at some of the most important areas in the city, including the Convention Center and 16th Street Mall.
