When did the "Jem" TV series air?

The "Jem" TV series premiered on Oct. 6 1985 as a part of the "Super Saturday/Super Sunday" half-hour block of cartoons. It ran until May 2, 1998.

"Jem" was a TV series developed by Hasboro to promote a new line of dolls. The original 15 episodes were 7 minutes each and were aired as a part of a block program that had other short episode series. The series was developed into an independent series, with the 22 minute episodes premiering on April 7, 1986. The original mini-episodes became the first five episodes of the 22 minute version of the series, within additional scenes added to fill the time slot.
