Where did Judaism begin?

The geographical origins of the Jewish religion can be traced back to the Fertile Crescent, an area of land on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea that is situated between the Nile, Tigris and Euphrates rivers. This early period is one of the only times in history that a unified Jewish community lived in a single location.
The city of Jerusalem is another geographically significant area in early Judaism. This city was the site of what is known as the First Temple, which is said to have been commissioned by King Solomon, son of King David. The First Temple was destroyed by Babylonians in 587 B.C.E.
