Lara Spencer married journalist David Haffenreffer in 2000, in a ceremony held at the St. Andrew's Dune Church. The couple separated in March 2015 and divorced in June 2015. They have two children together.

Lara Spencer is a television journalist who works as a co-anchor on ABC's "Good Morning America." From 2004 to 2011 she was the host of the "The Insider." Spencer was born in 1969 with the name Lara Christine von Seelen, She grew up in Garden City, Long Island, and attended Pennsylvania State University where she was an All-American athlete and earned a degree in broadcast journalism. Following college, she entered the NBC page program.
