Moses was born in 1393 B.C. and died in 1273 B.C. He was born at a time when the Pharoah of Egypt mandated the death of all Hebrew baby boys.
Moses' life was saved when his sister Miriam hid him in a basket that she placed on a river. The basket was found by the Pharoah's daughter, who raised him. As an adult, Moses brought 10 plagues upon Egypt to convince the Pharoah to release the Jewish people from slavery. Moses led the Jews out of Egypt and directed them on a 40-year journey, during which he received the Ten Commandments. Moses delivered the Jews to the Holy Land, but he died without entering the area.
