What did the Roman women wear?

The basic clothing of a Roman woman was the stola, a long tunic that reached to the ground. A palla, or draped cloak that was similar to the toga worn by men, could also be added.
A stola always reached to the ground, but it could vary with long or short sleeves or be entirely sleeveless. Wealthier women could show off their status with an ornamental border on the lower hem. The ricinium, a simple square cloak popular in the early republican era, was replaced in the later days of Rome by the palla, a draped cloak that varied in style and ranged from a small scarf to a large garment that covered the entire body.
