Why did Romina Power divorce Albano Carissi?

According to Albano Carissi, Romina Power divorced him as she simply "[didn't] want [him] in her life anymore." It has also been suggested that their marriage began to break down after the disappearance of their eldest daughter, Ylenia, in 1994.

Carissi gave his account in an open letter to the Italian magazine "Oggi" in 1999, claiming that after 29 years as one half of Italy's most enduring show-business power couple, Romina was "unrecognizable from the woman [he] knew." The singing duo reunited once more and for the final time in October 2013 for a concert performance in Moscow, Russia.
