Where did Rosa Parks work as a secretary from 1943 to 1956?

Rosa Parks worked as a secretary for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in Montgomery, Ala., from 1943 to 1956. In 1956, she and her husband Raymond moved from Alabama to Detroit, Mich., where she worked as an aide to Congressman John Conyers.

Parks and her husband left Alabama along with her mother in 1956 because of threats resulting from Parks' heroic act in 1955, when she refused to give up her bus seat to a white person when segregation was law. The Parks went to live with Rosa Parks' brother, Sylvester, when they moved in 1956. Parks worked for Congressman Conyers until she retired in 1988. She lost her husband, brother and mother to cancer between 1977 and 1979.
