Saint Laura of Cordoba died a Christian martyr in 864. She was taken prisoner by Muslims and was scalded to death in a vat of boiling lead. She is considered one of the martyrs of Cordoba, and her feast day is celebrated on October 19.
Saint Laura grew up in Spain as a Christian in a country of Muslims. After her husband died, she became a nun at Cuteclara, where she eventually became abbess.
She is commemorated by a stadium in Santiago, Chile and a saltpeter works in northern Chile. It is unknown what St. Laura's provenance is; however, she is a part of St. Leonard's triptych.
