When did the velociraptor become extinct?

The velociraptor became extinct at the end of the Cretaceous Period due to an asteroid strike at the Yucatan Peninsula that occurred roughly 65 million years ago. This extinction event, known as the K-T boundary, also killed all other known species of non-avian dinosaurs.
The K-T boundary is marked by a worldwide layer of iridium, which is found in asteroids. Below this layer, fossils from the Cretaceous are present. Above it, fossils from the Paleocene are present. Richard Cowen, author of "The History of Life," states the dinosaur-killing asteroid measured approximately six miles in diameter and caused a global catastrophe when it struck.
