There are two types of coffee beans used to make coffee today, Robusta and Arabica beans. Robusta beans are primarily used in espresso blends, while Arabica beans are used in regular coffee.
The flavor of a particular type of coffee bean depends on where it is grown. Costa Rica's coffee beans for example, have a lighter color and flavor than beans grown in other parts of the world. Robusta beans, as the name suggests, have a deeper color and flavor perfect for strong espresso blends. Robusta beans are grown throughout the world, with the majority coming from Asia.
