Types of military haircuts include the crew cut, the flat top haircut and the butch haircut. Other popular military haircuts include the undercut and the brush cut.

The crew cut is a military haircut in which the back and sides are tapered down to the hairline and the hair at the front of the head is slightly longer than the hair at the crown. The crew cut never exceeds 1 inch in length.

The flat top haircut features hair that is trimmed to create a flat surface when it is brushed up. The brush cut resembles the flat top except that the hair is not trimmed to have a flat surface; it is simply cut neatly and brushed up.
