What are the dimension of a full-size bed?

A full-size bed measures 54 inches wide by 75 inches long. The full-size bed is sometimes referred to as a double bed as well. This was the common couples bed in the 1960s or 1970s, due to rooms being built much smaller then.
A full-size bed by today's standards is normally considered to be a one person bed. Many of the college dorms come equipped or sized to accept full-sized beds now. The full-size beds are the same length as a twin and only add around 15 inches to the width. This makes it less than ideal for a couple because each person would only have around the same amount of space as if they were sleeping in a crib.
