What are the dimensions of Central Park?

Central Park is 2.5 miles long and half a mile wide. It covers 843 acres in the heart of New York City, or approximately 1.3 square miles.

Central Park stretches from 59th Street, or Central Park South, to 110th Street, also known as Central Park North where it is adjacent to the park. From east to west, the park runs from Fifth Avenue on the east side to Central Park West. Approximately 40 million people visit Central Park every year. Some of its most popular attractions and areas include the Central Park Zoo, Belvedere Castle, the Lake, the Central Park Carousel and Strawberry Fields.
