What is the Dividend Miles loyalty program by U.S. Airways?

As of May 2015, the U.S. Airways Dividend Miles reward program is defunct due to the company's merger with American Airlines. Former Dividend Miles members can have their miles and status transferred to the AAdvantage reward program.
Dividend Miles program members have had their accounts automatically moved to AAdvantage, unless they already had an AAdvantage account, in which case the two accounts are combined.
Members get points for miles they have flown with U.S. Airways prior to the merger and with American Airlines. These points can be redeemed for perks such as free travel, free upgrades, merchandise and membership in the Admiral's Club.
