What is the divorce rate for high school sweethearts?
By Forinfos - 04/07/2025 - 0 comments
Fifty-nine percent of women who marry before the age of 18 end up getting divorced. Women who marry after the age of 20 have only a 36 percent rate of divorce. Women who wait until age 25 to get married have an even lower rate of divorce: only 22 percent.
These crude statistics do not reveal who is marrying a high school sweetheart, only the age at which the marriage takes place. Some studies suggest that couples who meet at school are more likely to develop happier relationships than couples who meet through friends, family or random encounters at bars.
