Is dizziness related to diabetes?

In diabetics, dizziness can be a symptom of hypoglycemia. It is more common in diabetics who use insulin and tends to occur along with sweating and confusion, reports Mayo Clinic. This type of dizzy sensation can be hard to describe, but it may include a spacey or floating feeling.

In general, causes of dizziness often correspond to particular dizzy sensations. For example, the sensation of vertigo can indicate that the dizziness may be the result of an inner ear inflammation, an acoustic neuroma or Meniere's disease. In contrast, low blood pressure can cause a light-headed sensation, according to Mayo Clinic.
