DoDFMR Vol 7A is a volume of the Department of Defense's Financial Management Regulations policy. It contains information about military pay policy for those on active duty and reserve duty.
Enlisted persons on active military duty receive base pay, while those on reserve duty receive drill pay. Base pay is based on rank and the number of years in the military. Drill pay is based on rank, number of years in the military and the number of drill periods worked during the month. In addition to drill and base pay, enlisted members may receive allowances for expenses such as housing, food and clothing.
