How do dogs get fleas?

Dogs may get fleas from other dogs they interact with or other animals that are prone to flea attacks. Cats, goats, cows and sheep can all be considered flea carriers and may expose dogs to flea attacks.
In certain cases, even human beings may carry fleas unwittingly and expose a dog to infestation. Once fleas are noticed on a dog, it is a good idea to look for professional flea-control products in order to remedy the situation.
Unless managed quickly, fleas will cause a dog to constantly scratch and chew at its coat or skin. This may later turn into loss of hair for the dog and skin irritation or inflammation.
