What dogs have webbed feet?
By Forinfos - 23/05/2025 - 0 comments
Not all dogs have webbing between their toes, but breeds that were developed for water work include webbed feet as part of the breed standard. Labrador, golden and Chesapeake Bay retrievers are some of the most common webbed-footed breeds.
Other breeds that are known for their webbed feet include standard poodles, Weimaraners, Newfoundland dogs, Irish setters, water spaniels and Nova Scotia duck tolling retrievers. According to Perfect Puppy Care, webbed feet allow these dogs to move through water more efficiently, so they are able to swim faster while using less energy. The webbing also allows their toes to spread out more than a dog without webbed feet, giving them a more powerful stroke.
