What is a dryer wiring diagram?

A dryer wiring diagram is depiction of the various electric components of a dryer, how they are connected by wiring and their location in the dryer. This type of drawing, also referred to as a wiring schematic, is used in troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing a malfunctioning dryer.

Wiring diagrams are typically located on the rear panel or somewhere inside the cabinet of the dryer and are also included in the owner's manual. Most manufacturers also make these diagrams available on their official websites. Since each dryer is put together differently, these diagrams are unique to the specific model. The proper diagram is required before any repair is attempted.
