What is a duck phone?

A duck phone is a landline telephone shaped like a duck. Most duck phones are made from wood and are push-button telephones. As of 2014, the majority of duck phones are discontinued, having enjoyed the most popularity in the 1980s.

The duck phone is normally a two-piece phone. The phone receiver is usually shaped as the top part of a duck, including the head and neck, while the base of the phone is shaped like the lower part of the bird. A duck phone was famously used in the reality television show "The Jersey Shore." Cast members living together in the house frequently made phone calls on the provided duck phone, before it was broken on the final episode of the sixth season.
