How do you eat a horned melon?

A horned melon is eaten by slicing the melon open and scooping out the inside of the fruit. This is because the skin of the fruit can't be peeled. The inside of the fruit is filled with seeds, which can be scooped around or eaten.
Horned melon, also known as blowfish fruit and kiwano melon, has a yellowish-orange skin with pointy spines that resemble those of a puffer fish. The inside of the fruit is green in color.
Horned melon tastes like a mix of bananas, limes and cucumbers. A one-cup serving of the fruit contains approximately 4 grams of protein, 287 milligrams of potassium and vitamins A and C.
