Can you use free happy images found on the Internet for a school report?

Students can use free happy images found on the Internet to use in their school reports. Regardless of the copyright status of the images, students are allowed to use the images they find on the Internet in their school work.

As stated in section 107 of the Copyright Act, the use of any copyrighted content for teaching, scholarship and research purposes is called fair use and does not classify as copyright infringement.

In Sundeman v. The Seajay Society, the court ruled that the researcher did not commit copyright infringement by using quotations from a historical literary work in her academic presentation.
