Is Lincoln High School online a nonprofit organization?

The online Lincoln Academy, now closed, was not a nonprofit organization. A high school diploma from Lincoln Academy cost about $300 at the time the school was shut down.

Based in Houston, Texas, Lincoln Academy was a for-profit online school that lacked national accreditation and provided no coursework or instruction to students. The test to obtain a high school diploma was found by local news sources to be extremely easy and included very basic questions, including one on how many sides a triangle has. The school was shuttered by the state of Texas in August 2014 and was forced to pay over $1.4 million in restitution to customers.
