Some famous southern gospel soundtracks are "Mercy Walked In" by Gordon Mote, "He Will Carry You" by Lynda Randie, "I Know A Man Who Can" by the Talleys and "Had It Not Been" by the Gaither Vocal Band. Elvis Presley also recorded a number of famous southern gospel soundtracks.

Southern Gospel music soundtracks are commonly used during church ministry services. They are used as accompaniment to a person singing with the music, similar to a karaoke CD. The lead vocal is removed leaving behind the instrumental music and back-up vocals. These soundtracks can be used by a single vocalist, a vocal group or for the congregation to sign along to.
