How efficient are Trane brand furnaces?

Many models of Trane brand furnaces exceed the requirements of the U.S. Department of Energy for earning the Energy Star efficiency rating, as of 2015. However, Trane does sell some models that fall below the high-efficiency standard.

Trane brand natural gas and propane furnaces that exceed the 95-percent annual fuel utilization efficiency measurement for Energy Star compliance include the XC95M, SDV2, XV95, XL95 and XT95. The XC95M is the most efficient of all current Trane brand furnaces, receiving a 97.3 AFUE rating for both natural gas and propane models. The XV95 is the second-most efficient Trane furnace at 96.7 percent, with the SDV2 and XL95 models earning 96 percent, and the XT95 at 95-percent efficiency.
