Eggs do not exacerbate gout symptoms, according to WebMD. Green vegetables, fruits, chocolate, nuts and cheese are some of the other foods that are safe for gout sufferers to eat.
Foods high in purines, a chemical compound that is converted to uric acid by the body, should be avoided by gout patients, as high levels of uric acid can lead to gout flares. Offal, game meats, anchovies, scallops and beer are examples of foods very high in purines, according to WebMD. Fish, some seafood, oatmeal, wheat germ and wheat bran are moderately high in purines and should be eaten only occasionally.
