Will an electric stove fit in a space that is 36 inches wide?
By Forinfos - 25/01/2026 - 0 comments
As of 2015, the standard size of most freestanding and slide-in stoves is 30 inches wide, allowing either style to fit in a space that is 36 inches wide. Freestanding models also are available in widths of 20 inches, 24 inches and 36 inches.
Most stoves have a 36-inch surface height that places the stove top level with standard-height counter tops. Stoves are available in different depth sizes, but most are no more than 2 inches deeper than a typical 24-inch-deep cabinet. Slide-in stoves don't have back guards, making them an appropriate choice for a space that includes a decorative back splash. Freestanding ranges usually have back guards or rear control panels that are 2 to 6 inches high.
