How do you get into the Enhanced STAR program?
By Forinfos - 25/11/2025 - 0 comments
To be eligible for the Enhanced STAR program, New York homeowners must be age 65 or older and have an annual income of $83,300 or less. The home must be the taxpayer's primary residence and may be a house, condominium, co-op, apartment, farm house or manufactured home.
The Enhanced STAR program exempts homeowners from school district tax liability on the first $65,300 of the value of their primary residence. In cases in which the homeowner owns an entire mixed-use building, such as an apartment building where tenants rent units, the benefits of the Enhanced STAR program apply only to the portion of the building occupied by the owner.
