What are some basic facts about epilation?

Epilation is the use of a handheld device to remove skin hairs by the root, according to Braun. Women often epilate as an alternative to shaving their legs because it takes longer for the hair to grow back, and when it does, the hair is finer.
Braun indicates that skin remains smooth and hair-free for as long as four months after epilation. Prior to epilation, it's best to take a shower and exfoliate to get the best results. Though waxing also removes hair from the root, Braun indicates that epilation has more consistent results and the hair stays away longer.
