Where is Europe located?

Europe, also called Europa, is located in the Western and Northern Hemispheres on the European continent. Europe lies north of the African continent, south of the Arctic continent, west of the Asian continent and east of the North Atlantic Ocean.

Europe is bordered by: the North Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, Albania, Andorra, Croatia, the Holy See, Lichtenstein, Macedonia, Switzerland, Moldova, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Serbia, Turkey, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Europe consists of 50 countries and six partial countries. The European Union, not to be confused with Europe, is an intergovernmental and supranational organization that consists of 28 member states within the European continent.
