As of 2015, “CMT’s Next Superstar” has provided no further updates regarding a second season. In June 2011, CMT.com reported the show’s second season would return in late 2011 or early 2012. The website also provided an email for fans who were interested in auditioning for the second season.

“CMT’s Next Superstar” is a country music competition series that premiered in April 2011. The show featured 10 episodes of undiscovered singer-songwriters who competed while living together. Each week celebrity guests appeared on the show to help guide the contestants. Every episode contestants were eliminated. In June 2011, Matt Mason was crowned the winner of the show’s first season.
