What are some eye movements that indicate lying?
By Forinfos - 05/12/2025 - 0 comments
Recent behavioral studies have shown that eye movement is not a significant indicator of truthfulness. When attempting to discern truthfulness, it is more effective to study the demeanor of the whole body and not just the face or eyes.
While it is true that a person under interrogation may look away from the person asking the questions, the direction he looks has little correlation with whether or not he is lying. Defensive hand gestures and hesitant pauses in speech are far better indicators. In studies of behavior, it is often more useful to observe whether behaviors change rather than the specific ways they change. Only repetitive observation of behavior over time can infer a viable conclusion.
