What famous actors have played Tarzan?

Elmo Lincoln, Buster Crabbe, Bruce Bennett and Johnny Weissmuller are famous actors who played Tarzan. Elmo Lincoln was the first actor to play Tarzan in a film. He starred in three Tarzan movies, beginning with 1918's "Tarzan of the Apes," the first movie adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' "Tarzan."

Buster Crabbe was an Olympic gold medalist who began his acting career in the 1933 Tarzan serial, "Tarzan the Fearless." He went on to star in over 100 movies. Bruce Bennett won a silver medal at the 1928 Olympic games and went on to star as Tarzan in "The New Adventures of Tarzan." Johnny Weissmuller is the best known of the Tarzan actors and played the role 12 times in motion pictures.
