How far from the highway do you have to be to shoot a rifle in Alaska?

Alaska state law says that a person may not shoot a rifle from any part of a road that has been built for public use. The law does not limit a specified distance from the road for allowed shooting and/or hunting.

State law in Alaska declares that a person may not shoot on, from or across a road. State legislation and state hunting regulations further expand the definition of a road as "the driveable surface of any constructed road ir highway." No distinction has been made between shooting and hunting in terms of the shooting of a firearm.
