How far do you need to park from a fire hydrant?

The rules for parking in the vicinity of a fire hydrant vary based on local codes and regulations. For example, in Missouri, vehicles may not park, stop or stand within 15 feet of a fire hydrant. However, in Hillsboro, Oregon, the limit is 10 feet from a hydrant.
Some places also regulate parking near the entrance to a fire station. Hillsboro does not allow parking within 15 feet of the fire station entrance. Utah has a 15-foot radius for hydrant parking, but provides exceptions for avoiding other traffic conflicts or if directed by a traffic officer. The 15-foot rule also applies in Baltimore, Maryland, with a fine as a penalty.
