Fault codes used by the John Deere equipment include both Suspect Parameter Number, or SPN, and a Failure Mode Identifier, or FMI. A common example is SPN.FMI 100.1, which is defined as "engine oil pressure low."
Other fault codes include SPN.FMI code 174.00, which means that the fuel temperature is high, 158.17, which is defined as a key switch circuit problem, 168.16, which is the fault code for low battery voltage and 105.04, which means that the intake manifold temperature voltage is low. Another common fault code is 1383.14, which means that the engine was shut down by a device other than key switch. Most fault codes are available on the John Deere website.
