How do you know what your favorite color is?

There is not a scientific way to discover one's favorite color, but Discovery Communications explains that research has shown human preference for colors is connected to life experiences. Studies suggest that negative experiences connected to the same color will result in a distaste for that color.

Discovery Communications talks about a study conducted that split participants into two groups that each watched a different slide show of images associated with color, like a red strawberry for one group and red blood for the other, or green slime for one group and a green tree for the other. Participants later reported a preference in color that correlated with the positive images.
